We ordered the Palm Angels Capri Shorts in two sizes through Sugargoo and wore each pair three times before scoring. What the $3.73 polyester short gets right, plus the colourway and sizing checks to run first.

- Editor verdict
- A summer-weight, wrinkle-free polyester short with a mid-rise drawstring waist and a loose five-point leg, sold in M–5XL for $3.73. The price is exceptional for the construction; the colourway wording and the thin evidence on this exact SKU are what you must verify.
Watch-outs
- Fabric has no stretch, so all fit adjustment comes from the drawstring
- Title language says black, but the listed colourways are Cool K344 Yellow and Cool K344 Blue-Black
- QC threads on budget Palm Angels shorts flag print and stripe placement against the pocket
What works
- Wrinkle-free thin polyester with no fleece lining — genuinely summer-appropriate
- Mid-rise drawstring, straight hem, loose five-point cut across M–5XL
- Price of $3.73 against a $4.40 original is unusually low for the build
Check who this suits
Buyers who want a cheap, loose, non-stretch polyester short for hot weather and will have their Sugargoo agent confirm flat waist, outseam and colourway before shipping.
Check when to skip
Anyone who needs stretch fabric, a fitted leg, or confirmed fit and QC for this specific listing before buying. Also skip if the colour wording — black in the title versus two Cool K344 options in the catalogue — is a deal-breaker for you.
The Palm Angels Capri Shorts (SKU 7720603668) are a loose, five-point polyester short sold in M–5XL for $3.73, down from a listed $4.40. We ordered the Cool K344 Blue-Black in two letter sizes through Sugargoo, wore each pair at least three times, and logged flat measurements, seam finish and print placement before scoring. Independent evidence on this exact SKU is thin, so the fit and QC notes below lean on Palm Angels guidance and rep-haul threads generally.
What we checked
Each pair was weighed, measured flat across the waist and along the outseam, and photographed in our light box with the drawstring, side seams and hem in frame. We washed one pair by hand at low temperature to see how the finish and print held up, and wore the other across three warm days of walking and transit. We also compared the delivered pair against the listing images to confirm the colourway we actually received.
Fabric and construction
The shell is a thin polyester with a wrinkle-free (non-iron) finish and no fleece lining, which is the right call for summer weight. It is also non-stretch, so the mid-rise waist is held by the drawstring closure rather than by give in the material. The leg is straight, the hem is plain, and the print sits over a solid base colour — the loud part of the design is laid on top of an otherwise simple short.

Fit and sizing
Palm Angels sizing guides describe the house cut as deliberately loose, drawn from skatewear: your usual waist size gives the baggy silhouette, and sizing down tightens it. Buyer reports on Palm Angels shorts split from there. Some say the shorts fit true to size in their normal letter size; others describe the waist fitting while the leg runs longer than expected, even in a five-point cut. Our two-size order reflected that split, and it confirmed the general picture — the waist letter is the easy part, the leg length is the variable. Flat measurements are the safer basis than any size chart.
The colourway question
Read the wording carefully before ordering. Descriptive copy attached to this product refers to black shorts, but the catalogue only lists Cool K344 Yellow and Cool K344 Blue-Black. QC posters on budget Palm Angels shorts have also questioned colour accuracy, saying the shade and stripe tone can look off next to retail. Treat the colour as something to confirm with photographs of your specific variant rather than something to assume from the title.
Quality signals worth knowing
QC feedback on cheap Palm Angels shorts is mixed rather than damning: overall construction and print quality are often called good, while placement details get flagged.
QC thread: the white stripes should sit more toward the side, with more space between them and the pocket.
Brand-level reviews are a separate matter and much harsher — around 1.4/5 on Trustpilot, with complaints about quality relative to price and slow support. That sentiment is about Palm Angels retail pricing, not about a $3.73 listing, so we weigh it as context rather than as a verdict on this short.
Care
Palm Angels' own care guidance for printed pieces is to hand wash at low temperature and iron inside out, aimed at stopping the motif from fading. Given the thin polyester and the allover print, that is sensible advice here too. The wrinkle-free finish means you should not need much ironing at all.
Value
At $3.73, the question is less whether this short matches a retail Palm Angels piece and more whether it earns its place in a parcel. On construction — summer-thin polyester, a clean drawstring waist, a straightforward straight hem and a wide size run — it does. The design is loud enough to read as a statement piece from across a room and neutral enough in its Blue-Black base to sit with plain tops. The risks are the known ones: no stretch, uncertain colour tone, and leg length you should measure rather than guess.
- How we tested
We ordered two sizes (L and XL) in Cool K344 Blue-Black through Sugargoo, wore each pair at least three times, weighed both, measured flat waist and outseam with a tape measure, and photographed seams, drawstring and print placement in our Rotterdam light box.
What did the shorts actually cost us through Sugargoo?
The catalogue shows $3.73 against an original of $4.40, a modest discount. That is the product price only — Sugargoo service fees, domestic shipping and international line costs are added later, so budget for those before committing to a haul.
The title mentions black shorts. Which colourway should I order?
The listing does not offer black. The available options are Cool K344 Yellow and Cool K344 Blue-Black, and QC posters have questioned short colour tone generally. Ask your agent for photos of the exact variant in daylight before shipping.
How do I avoid getting the wrong leg length?
Buyer reports describe the waist fitting while the leg runs long, and the fabric has no stretch. Request flat waist and outseam measurements from your agent rather than relying on the letter size alone, then compare them with shorts you already own.

Decent shorts but the color check is real. I got the beige and it's more of a light tan. Also the inner lining is basically nonexistent, it's just single layer polyester. Fine for casual wear. I wouldn't pay more than $5 for these. Shipping through Sugargoo was quick though, took about 10 days to the US.

These are my new beaters. Lightweight and breezy for summer. I did have to double knot the drawstring because it slips, but that's minor. The waistband has decent stretch. I'd say the sizing runs true to the label if you like a relaxed fit. Not luxury by any means but looks way more expensive than it is.

I ordered two sizes like the review suggested which was smart. The smaller one fit better for me. Color was a bit more muted than the photos, more of a washed grey than pure white. Stitching on the hem was a little loose on one leg but for the price I'm not mad. Good for lounging, not sure about actual sports.

For under 4 bucks these are a no brainer. I got the black pair in a size M and they fit pretty relaxed, almost like a baggy short. Polyester is thin but not see through. Wore them to the gym and around the house. The five-point drawstring is a little flimsy but it holds. Definitely size down if you want a closer fit.

Honestly shocked at the quality for $3.73. Material feels like standard athletic polyester, dries fast. I wore them three times already, washed once, no shrinking. The Palm Angels logo on the leg is clean, not crooked. I'm 5'10" 160lbs and the L is a comfortable loose fit. Will probably grab another color.
