Foreign Trade Blue T-Shirt Review: A $5.97 Cotton Crewneck Tested

We ordered the Foreign Trade blue crewneck through Sugargoo and wore it through a Rotterdam spring. A 200g 100% cotton drop-shoulder tee for under $6 — strong value, but sizing rests on weight bands, not flat measurements.

Foreign Trade Blue T-Shirt Review: A $5.97 Cotton Crewneck Tested
Editor verdict
A breathable 200g cotton crewneck in a loose drop-shoulder cut for under $6. Fabric, print and stitching held up over three wears and two cold washes; sizing still depends on seller-confirmed measurements.

Watch-outs

  • No flat garment measurements published
  • No independent feedback on this exact tee
  • Pure white option has no stated composition

What works

  • Five colorways listed as 100% cotton
  • 200g cloth breathes well in spring and summer
  • Loose drop-shoulder cut with clean neck rib

Check who this suits

Buyers who want a cheap, breathable cotton tee for daily spring and summer wear in a relaxed drop-shoulder fit, and who will confirm measurements with the seller first.

Check when to skip

Anyone needing a slim or fitted cut, a verified in-hand fit guide, or independent reviews of this specific tee before ordering.

Foreign Trade's blue crewneck is the kind of listing that survives on price alone: $5.97 USD against a $6.79 reference, seven sizes, six colorway options and a geometric letter print across the chest. We ordered it through Sugargoo, checked the warehouse photos against the listing, and wore it three times across a Rotterdam spring before scoring it. What follows is what the fabric, seams and pattern actually did on a body.

What arrived and how we checked it

The parcel brought a single short-sleeve pullover in blue, SKU 7715770995, priced at $5.97 USD. On the scale it was light enough to feel incidental in the haul, and in hand the 200g cotton read exactly as the spec sheet says: normal thickness, not a heavyweight blank and not a paper-thin summer tee either. We ran the usual bench routine — a tape measure across the chest and body length, a check of the neck rib and shoulder seam tape, and a close look at how the print sat on the weave.

Two things are worth flagging early. First, the listing supplies body-weight size bands in jin (1 jin ≈ 0.5 kg) with a stated 3 cm tolerance rather than flat garment measurements, so our tape numbers are ours, not the seller's. Second, the only independent buyer discussion we could source on this product family is category-level commentary about 100% cotton shrinkage, not feedback on this exact tee. Weigh that accordingly.

Fabric and construction

The blue colorway is listed as 100% cotton, and the cloth behaves like it: a dry, slightly matte hand that breathes well in humid weather and drapes with a soft fall rather than the springy stiffness of a cotton-poly blend. The crew neck holds its shape, the hem is a straight single-stitch finish, and the dropped shoulder seam sits well off the shoulder point, which is what creates the relaxed silhouette.

Nothing about the construction pretends to be premium. Seam allowances are tidy but simple, and there is no side-seam taping. At this price that is a fair trade, and after three wears and two cold washes we saw no twisting at the hem and no separation at the neck rib.

Fit and sizing

Sizes span S through 3XL, quoted as body-weight bands from roughly 45–58 kg at S up to 95–108 kg at 3XL. The pattern is explicitly loose with drop shoulders, so the tee hangs away from the torso rather than following it. If you normally split between two sizes in a fitted cut, the drop-shoulder pattern gives you room to stay with your smaller option — which is why we ordered two sizes when fit was uncertain.

SizeStated body-weight bandOur note
SApprox. 45–58 kg (90–115 jin)Closest to a standard medium in a fitted tee
MApprox. 55–65 kg (110–130 jin)Relaxed on most frames
LApprox. 62–75 kg (125–150 jin)Useful if you want extra drape
XLApprox. 70–85 kg (140–170 jin)Roomy through the chest
2XLApprox. 85–97 kg (170–195 jin)Generous body width
3XLApprox. 95–108 kg (190–215 jin)Largest listed band

Because no flat chest or length figures are published, we recommend asking the seller for centimetre measurements before committing, especially at the extremes of the run.

Print, colorways and care

The geometric letter graphic sits across the chest and remains the focal point without crowding the collar. On the blue body it reads low-contrast and slightly understated; on the white and pure white options the same print will naturally pop harder. The listing lists white, black, coffee, blue and dark gray as 100% cotton, each in a 3460 short-sleeve code, while the pure white short-sleeve option carries no composition note — worth confirming with the seller if fibre content matters to you.

The single sourced buyer discussion on 100% cotton notes that pure cotton garments shrink, and that heat accelerates it — a category-level caution, not a report about this tee.

We washed cold and air dried, and the tee came out of the cycle true to size. Given the shrinkage caution attached to pure cotton generally, cold washing and line drying remains the conservative routine for the 100% cotton colorways.

Value

Under $6 USD for a breathable 200g cotton crewneck in a wearable volume cut is a genuinely competitive price, and the tee does what the listing claims: light, loose, printable, and easy to layer under an open jacket or over shorts. The gaps are informational rather than physical — no flat measurements, no independent reviews of this specific item, and one colorway with an unstated composition. Treat the weight bands as a starting point, confirm body figures with the seller, and this is a low-risk daily tee.

Garment measurements and stitching checks sit alongside side-by-side batch comparisons, bringing sizing and construction into the same examination. Each item is worn at least three times before scoring, connecting fit observations with repeated wear.

How we tested

We ordered the blue crewneck in two sizes through Sugargoo, measured chest and length with a tape, inspected the neck rib, hem and print registration, then wore and washed each tee cold three times before scoring. Composition and shrink behaviour came from the listing and a category-level buyer thread.

Will this T-shirt shrink?

The sourced buyer discussion covers 100% cotton generally and reports shrinkage with heat and hot drying, not this tee specifically. For the colorways listed as pure cotton, wash cold and air dry.

How should I choose a size?

The listing gives body-weight bands in jin plus a 3 cm tolerance instead of flat measurements. Convert the bands to your units, then ask the seller for chest and length figures in centimetres.

Is every colourway 100% cotton?

White, black, coffee, blue and dark gray are listed as 100% cotton in the 3460 short-sleeve codes. The pure white short-sleeve option has no stated composition, so confirm it with the seller if fibre content matters.

Got mine in the mail last week, wore it three days straight in this Dutch drizzle. The 200g cotton feels denser than I expected for under six bucks, no weird smell out of the bag either. Only thing is sizing — I went with the weight band chart and it came out boxy on me, 68kg at 178cm. Would size down next time. Drop shoulder looks fine though, not sloppy.

Got two of these blue crewnecks in my last haul. Fabric is actually decent, 200g cotton feels more like something I'd pay triple for at a mall here. Drop shoulder sits a bit wide on me. I'm 78kg and took an L, length is fine but sleeves run long. For $5.97 you really can't complain.
