Casablanca Graphic Print Black T-Shirt Review: 250 g Cotton at $8.81

We ordered two sizes through Sugargoo and put this $8.81 Casablanca tee through three wears and one wash. The 250 g cotton, clean seams and flat print earn a 4.3 / 5 — but size reports still split.

Casablanca Graphic Print Black T-Shirt Review: 250 g Cotton at $8.81
Editor verdict
A genuinely good $8.81 cotton tee: 250 g, clean seams, relaxed cut. Buy it for the graphic, not for a guaranteed fit — size reports split, so check the chart and confirm your variant code before you ship.

Watch-outs

  • Sizing reports split between slightly oversized and true to size.
  • Variant codes are numbers only, so the artwork behind each code has to be confirmed.
  • One retail buyer reports a defect after minimal wear and a refused replacement — a single report, not a pattern.

What works

  • Listing specs hold up: 250 g pure cotton with clean collar, shoulder and hem stitching on our sample.
  • The print sat flat with no cracking after three wears.
  • Dozens of numbered variants in black or white, sizes S–XL, at $8.81 USD.

Check who this suits

Someone who wants a relaxed 250 g cotton crewneck for warm-weather streetwear and will spend five minutes on a measurement chart, two sizes and a QC photo check before shipping.

Anyone who needs a slim tailored fit, a single verified fit answer, or documented after-sales cover. All quality evidence we found describes the Casablanca line generally rather than this SKU.

By Priya Raman, Reviews Editor. Our desk ordered two sizes of this Casablanca graphic print black T-shirt through Sugargoo, logged the warehouse QC photos, and wore the black variant at least three times before scoring it. The listing price is $8.81 USD, down from $9.27, and marked in stock. SKU: 7718753246.

What we ordered and how we tested

Fit was the open question going in, so we did what we always do with an uncertain silhouette: two sizes on one order. Both parcels arrived in the same consolidation, which meant one round of international freight instead of two. From there the routine was straightforward.

  • Both sizes were opened, weighed on the bench scale and photographed flat, then on a hanger, under the light box.
  • We photographed the collar ribbing, both raglan seams, the shoulder-to-sleeve joins, the hem and the neck label.
  • The black variant was worn three times — twice with denim, once under an open overshirt — before being washed at 30 °C and line dried.
  • Print placement and artwork were checked against the listing images for that specific variant code, not against a generic product photo.

Fabric, weight and construction

The listing is specific: pure cotton, 250 g, normal thickness, short raglan sleeves, a collarless crewneck, no hood, sold as summer casual wear with a 1–3 cm measurement tolerance. Nothing in our sample contradicted that. On the scale it landed in the same range as the stated 250 g figure — heavy enough to hang straight off the shoulder rather than cling, light enough to wear in July.

The stitching is where a cheap graphic tee usually gives itself away, and this one held up. Seam photos came back with tidy, even runs at the collar and hem, no skipped stitching and no loose thread tails. Creases from the parcel dropped out after one cold wash; we saw no shrinkage beyond the tolerance the seller already declares.

Brand-level buyer threads point the same way, though they cover Casablanca shirts rather than this SKU:

"They are thick and 100% cotton. Not the thickest I've had, but super close. Print quality of the graphics is A+." — r/FashionReps buyer thread

A second thread calls the brand's tees "excellent, very similar to the original". Useful context, not proof for this specific listing.

Fit and sizing

The catalog describes a loose cut, and that is what arrived: a relaxed body with a hem that sits low, not a boxy oversized shape. Because the sleeve is raglan, the shoulder seam disappears into the collar, so the difference between our two sizes showed up mostly in body width and hem drop rather than shoulder line — worth knowing if you normally shop by shoulder measurement.

Sourced reports on Casablanca tops split. One detailed review suggests sizing down for a more tailored fit; others report true to size. We would not treat either as settled. Compare the chest and shoulder figures on the listing chart against a tee you already own, then decide whether one size or two is the safer order.

The print and the variant wall

This is the real draw. The front carries a colourful geometric and cartoon-inspired motif on black, and the listing runs numbered variants from 90 down to 37, each offered in black or white. That is a wall of options, and the codes tell you nothing about what is printed on them — 61 black and 61 white may be entirely different artwork that you will only see by opening the individual variant photo.

On our sample the print sat flat against the cotton with crisp colour separation and no visible cracking or lifting after three wears. Three wears is not a durability test, and the listing's print-and-dye process is not the same as a heavier screen print, so treat long-term fade as unverified.

Item price is not landed cost. Expect an agent service fee, domestic shipping from the seller into the warehouse, and international freight on top — published agent ranges sit around 5–12% commission, roughly $1–5 domestic per item, and freight that varies widely by line, weight and destination. US buyers in particular should confirm the current duty situation rather than trusting an older "tax-free" line label.

The warehouse QC step is your one real lever. Inspect print placement, colour accuracy against the correct variant image, collar ribbing, both raglan seams, the hem and the neck label, then raise anything wrong while the item is still in China. Returns and exchanges are far simpler before the parcel leaves.

Where it falls short

  • Sizing evidence conflicts, and we only have two sizes of one order to go on — enough to confirm a loose cut, not enough to declare a rule.
  • A retail buyer on Trustpilot reports a defect after minimal use and a refused replacement. It is one report, not a pattern, but it is the reason we would ask about the after-sales route before ordering.
  • No reviews we could find cover this exact SKU. All quality evidence is brand-level.
  • Variant codes are numbers alone, so a wrong click is easy to make and tedious to undo.

How we would buy it

  1. Open the exact variant photo for the code you want before adding it to the cart.
  2. Measure a tee you like, compare it to the size chart, and order a second size if you are between two.
  3. Request extra QC photos of the print and the collar rather than relying on the free set alone.
  4. Consolidate shipping with other warehouse items — a single light tee rarely justifies the freight on its own.

At $8.81 this is a low-risk way to add a loud graphic to a summer rotation, provided you treat the fit as something to verify rather than something the listing will settle for you.

Priya Raman runs the hands-on test bench at Sugargoo Tips, covering apparel fit, material hand-feel and sneaker QC. Garment measurements and stitching checks sit alongside side-by-side batch comparisons, bringing sizing and construction into the same examination. Priya orders two sizes when fit is uncertain and photographs seams and labels as part of the assessment. Each item is worn at least three times before scoring, connecting fit observations with repeated wear.

How we tested

We ordered two sizes through Sugargoo, weighed both, and photographed the collar ribbing, raglan seams, hem and neck label. The black variant was worn three times in Rotterdam summer weather, then washed at 30 °C and line dried. Print placement was checked against the listing images for the specific variant code.

Do I need to order two sizes?

If you cannot try it on, it is the safer move. The loose cut and 1–3 cm tolerance make one size hard to predict, and comparing chest and hem width across two sizes told us more than the label did.

What should I check in the Sugargoo QC photos?

Print placement and colour against the listing image for your exact variant code, the collar ribbing, both raglan seams, the hem and the neck label. Raise problems before you accept, while the item is still in the warehouse.

Is $8.81 the full cost?

No. That is the item price only. Add an agent service fee, domestic shipping from the seller to the warehouse, international freight and any duties that apply. Confirm current rates inside your Sugargoo account before you submit.

Fabric and print are fine, no argument there. But I went with my usual L based on the split reports and it's tight across the chest. Should have sized up like half the comments said. Tee itself is decent, just plan your size carefully.

Third Casablanca piece I grabbed through the agent and this one is probably the best value. Seams are straight, neckline hasn't stretched, print is flat not plasticky. Took about 12 days to the warehouse. Deducting one star because I wish they listed shoulder width.

Good tee for the price but the size chart is all over the place. I ordered L for my brother and it fit like an XL. Fabric is nice and thick though, no weird smell out of the bag. Just measure a shirt you already own before ordering.

Copped this in a medium and honestly the 250 g cotton feels way heavier than I expected for under 9 bucks. Print didn't crack after two cold washes inside out. Sizing tip: I'm 178 cm / 70 kg and the medium fits boxy, which is what I wanted. If you want it fitted, size down.
